POINTS SHORT-AND-MEDIUM-TO-LONG TERM MANIFESTO FOR DISTRICT HUNZA TO DEVELOP AS A ‘MODEL DISTRICT‘ LEADING BY EXAMPLE NOT ONLY IN GILGIT-BALTISTAN BUT ALSO IN PAKISTAN AND ABROAD

Purposeful Youth Engagement
Boost Sports Tourism: Establishing a state-of-the-art sports city (a stadium with all sorts of international standard indoor, outdoor sports facilities) in a common place easily accessible to female and male youth from Lower Central & Upper Hunza. In future this international standard sports city amidst scenic valleys will host national, and international events and contribute to sports tourism in GB. Sports city will not only generate employment but also contribute to boost our hospitality sector and associated businesses with this sector.

Investing in Next Generation
– Establishing Early Childhood Education and Development centres equipped with ECD resources in each and every school in Hunza district.
– Equip high schools, colleges with state of the art Labs and IT facilities.
03.
Flood Preparedness and coping with Flood Disasters
Every year floods cause huge damages negatively impacting lives and livelihoods of our communities. Mitigation is the only option we have to manage adverse impacts of catastrophic floods. In this regards, building ‘Flood-head to River Gabion Walls’ along major often catastrophic flood passages will be the biggest priority.

Natural Resources
Regularizing natural resource extraction in the area in a way that natural resource extraction is not only responsible but also sustainable and its benefits reach to the community in an equitable manner.

Planned Urbanization
Regularizing construction sector in the area so that all urban centers in our area not only look planned but are constructed in a futuristic manner.

Hospital in upper Hunza
Communities from upper hunza are required to travel long distance even in health emergencies. Looking at the population in upper hunza, construction of a fully equiped 20 bed hospital has become a must.
07.
Modern Lift Irrigation
Our traditional glacier fed irrigation channels have reached to their optimal coverage. Besides strengthening existing irrigation channels feeding our vallies, adding modern lift irrigation systems has become a must not only to irrigate barren land but also to reduce pressure on our existing irrigation channels.
08.
Making Differently able persons Integral part of Society
Supporting community organizations, govt relevant departments active in the district with provisioning of special funding to better engage differently able persons for their better future.
